SRI 2021 is a summer research institute that is hosted by the Ram Program at Farmingdale State College. For the SRI I mostly focused on studying the material of concrete and the method of 3-D printing. Also trying to compare it to wood and steel to find out which material and method is more substainable.
In the construction industry, 3-D printing is becoming a huge topic in the industry. According to the company Mighty Building, 3-D printing can produce its units in two or three weeks, at a cost that’s about 40 percent lower than similar-quality construction, and with almost zero construction waste. 3-D printed buildings are mostly created by a 3-D printer that uses very accurate measurements.
